Credit Card Fees

Credit card processing fees charged by banks and card networks add significant cost to nearly every transaction. When combined with required taxes, increasing food and beverage costs, and everyday operating expenses, these fees can quickly reduce the already-thin margins small businesses rely on. Your support helps us continue to pay our team well, maintain quality, and keep Higgy’s strong for the long run.

Live Entertainment Fee

Rather than charging a cover at the front door—which is common for live entertainment venues we apply a 17% entertainment fee to each tab. On average, this amounts to roughly half of what a typical door cover would be. The good news is there is a simple way to have this fee removed: pay your entire tab in cash. Today, more than 85% of our revenue comes from credit card transactions. While convenient, this means our serving staff often waits up to two weeks to receive their tips, whereas historically they were able to take home their earnings nightly. In a time when costs continue to rise for staff and small business owners alike we’ve tried to find a solution that helps everyone involved, including our guests.

The bottom line is simple: when you pay with cash, we retain 100% of its value—and the banks/card processing companies receive 0%.
